Dear Matadors and Friends,
Time flies by! Can you believe it’s already time for our 20 year reunion? It’s true - 20 years have passed since we last stuffed our book-filled backpacks into our lockers in the commons. Yes, the school is still standing (though there have been a few additions), the halls are still colored red and blue and, strangely enough, the cafeteria has not been replaced by Starbucks. Students still complain about hiking to Yucca in a 40 mph wind, and now they have the same complaints about getting to the new science building. La Cueva has replaced Eldorado as our arch rival. Many of the same teachers are still there, including … Dusty Blech. One thing has changed - Principal Romero is now state senator Romero. Matadors on the reunion committee, together with Blast from the Past Reunions, have created an awesome weekend of activities for our classmates and their families. We’ll relive old glories, tell funny stories, visit old friends and find out where everyone ended up. For those of you who’ve wandered away from the Land of Enchantment, this is a great opportunity to revisit your old stomping grounds and take in the beauty of the Sandias again. The mountains that is - the school’s alright, but beautiful would be a bit of an overstatement. Don’t miss it! This is a great opportunity to get together and see the school and each other, it won’t be the same without you. If you have any questions or you want to help with the details of the reunion please contact Blast from the Past or any of the reunion committee members. Heather (Trussell) Fowler |
